approach: Capital One is known as the humorous, tongue-in-cheek credit card company. When it expanded its operations to include more focus on banking, it needed to make an impact and develop a more helpful tone of voice.
After ‘a fresh approach to banking’ was chosen as the as the design motto, I was 1 of 2 designers exploring different visual concepts, themes, and systems. After my concept was chosen to revise further, I developed a modular design system leveraging the circular elements, patterning, bold colors, and simple phrases from the earlier concepts. Additionally, I sourced and edited stock imagery, gained experience copywriting, and had the opportunity to present the final concept to the client.
